This practice is all about relaxation. The practice begins with somatic movements to release tension in the body. Next restorative yoga poses are held for several minutes with the addition of hot stones placed on the body to deepen the relaxation. In restorative yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters are used to support the body in long holds with no effort happening in the body. Hot stones can not be placed directly on the body. Layers of clothing are recommended for this class to increase your comfort.
