• Bemidji Area Schools and Bemidji Bi-Cap received a Voluntary Pre-K grant for families living within the JW Smith attendance boundaries. This collaboration allows children that are 4-years-old by September 1, 2023 to have a preschool experience at their elementary school.

  • Must live within the JW Smith Elementary attendance boundaries
  • Must be 4-years-old by 9/01/2023
  • Class time is 7:55 am - 2:40 pm, Early drop off at 7:30 am

  • 5 days a week
  • After school care is available for an add'l $8.00 per day (2:40 - 6:00) and you must pre-register on the Bemidji Community Education website under School Age Care
  • Busing, breakfast & hot lunch available
  • Tuition may be free ($0), reduced ($225) or full ($450)
  • Families will fill out the Application of Benefits form that is mailed to all Bemidji School District families in July of 2023. This will determine your tuition rate in all VPK seats are not awarded by the MDE.
