ECFE/Preschool
Bemidji's Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program and Preschool are for all families in the Bemidji School District who have birth to preschool age children.
We recognize that parents are a child's first and most important teachers -- and that sometimes parents need support and encouragement for this responsibility!
ECFE/Preschool offers a variety of classes for you and your child: infants to pre-kindergarten.

There is a $30 registration fee for all preschool classes and a
$10 registration fee for all ECFE classes.

As soon as you have your baby, please feel free to join this class!
We offer a chance to connect with other new parents and answer questions you have about your new role as a parent! We will discuss parenting issues, learn about your child's development and talk about what you can do at home to encourage and appreciate your wonderful child.

Your toddler is busy exploring the world and this class is designed to be your time to slow down and enjoy your child. You will experience a variety of hands-on activities, sing songs, participate in creative and messy projects, learn about your child's development and enjoy a facilitated discussion with a licensed parent educator.
One-year-old Class ~ (with parent) ~ $40 per month
- Meets each Wednesday from 8:30am - 9:45am
* 2024-45 School Year *
Classes begin the week of September 3rd.

~ 2 days a week ~ $75 per month
Parents will attend with their child each Tuesday and your child will attend solely each Thursday
- Meets each Tuesday from 10:15am - 11:45am with parent
- Also meets each Thursday from 10:15am - 12:15pm without parent
$5 "DROP-IN" CLASS
No registration required
Families are welcome to drop in and play every week. The entire class is devoted to parent and child activities. Enjoy sensory activities, music, art and story time.
A licensed early childhood teacher and a licensed parent educator will be available to answer any parenting questions or concerns you may have.
- Meets every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am -- Drop in and play!
- September 4th, 2024 to May 28th, 2025
- Come and go as you please
- Birth - 5 years old
- $5 per family, per time
- Pay when you arrive

- Since children are at different levels of development at varying ages, they learn from one another as they play, interact, and develop skills.
- Classes include parent and child interaction time and an opportunity to spend uninterrupted quality time with your child.
- Parents then separate for a facilitated parent group while the children continue playing, interacting, and developing skills with the Early Childhood Teacher.
- At the end of class, parents and children reconnect for circle time with stories, songs and fingerplays.

- Meets each Tuesday from 6:00pm - 7:30pm
MIXED AGES 1-3 (with parent)

- Meets each Monday from 10:15am - 11:45am
