Unified Skate is a program for students with and without disabilities to come together to learn the importance of inclusion, kindness and acceptance while participating in physical activity. Children of all abilities take part and they all benefit. Unified Skate forms a strong foundation for skaters, with and without disabilities, to explore the world of skating. Each level introduces new skills and techniques, encouraging skaters to advance while having fun in a healthy and social environment. Once skaters master the fundamentals, they can progress into more specific skating disciplines and explore specialty classes that introduce them to a wide variety of skating opportunities. Classes will be led by Jenni Rockensock. Jenni has been coaching since 1990. She is available to teach all levels in all areas, including hockey. She is a registered US Figure Skating/Hockey Instructor.
Classes will be on Wednesdays from June 12th through July 24th from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bemidji Community Arena. Please arrive early enough to be ready to be on the ice on time. Dress warm. It is recommended that participants wear a helmet. A limited number of skates are available to borrow at the BCA (sizes Youth Size 8-Ladies 8/Men 7).
