Hansel & Gretel
A sweet and delightful twist to a classic tale!
Hansel and Gretel are like any brother and sister, they can't stand each other! But when their parents sign them up to be Adventure Scouts, they have no idea the adventure they are in for! Troop Leader Paul takes his Adventure Scouts on a camping trip and tells a scary story about Brunhilda the Witch and her house made of candy. Excited by the prospect of all that sugar, Hansel takes off into the forest after everyone has gone to sleep, and Gretel goes after him! Along the way, they meet some forest creature and flowers that help them, but as they get deeper into the forest, they meet some of Brunhilda's creations
Join Bemidji Community Education and Storybook Theatre on this sweet adventure to find what will happen to Hansel and Gretel whey they meet Brunhilda, and will they ever get back home again?
Storybook Theater Residency Week in Bemidji will take place from July 22nd - July 26th with the following schedule:
Auditions will be held on Monday, July 22nd from 2:15 PM - 4:15 PM. It is mandatory that all participants be present during this time. Parts will be distributed following auditions and a two hour rehearsal will take place from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM that day.
Rehearsals will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:15 PM - 6:30PM.
Dress rehearsal, Friday 12:30 PM - 4:45PM. Two performances, 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
All auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at Gene Dillon Elementary Main Gym.
Tour actors will play the parts of Troop Leader Paul and Brunhilda the Witch. Children (Grades 1-12) will be cast to play the other roles, including Hansel, Gretel, Adventure Scouts, Forest Animals, Forest Flowers, Birds, Candycane Creatures, Sugarplum Scaries and Taffy Trolls. Space is limited to 79 participants.
Tickets can be purchased (cash only) at the door for the performances. Tickets $5 (kids under 12 are free). BOGO! Admittanace to second show is free with the purchase of a ticket to the first show.
